What data do we collect and what do we do with it?
Camden Tea Company takes both your data and your privacy very seriously. If you give us consent to hold your data and communicate with you, this page explains what we will do with it.
What information is being collected?
Our pop-up forms will collect your email address and (if you provide it) your name. Other forms, such as our contact form and payment forms, may ask for more detailed information including your postal address, payment address, email address, a phone number and your payment information.
As well as the data you provide, we will also collect the time and date you submitted the message and/or order and also the country and IP address the message and payment was submitted from. This data will be stored in our website as well as being emailed to one of our team.
We do not store and cannot see your payment card details. They are used by the secure payment gateway STRIPE to transact card payments, Apple (if you are using ApplePay), Google (if you are using GooglePay) or Amazon (if you are using Amazon Payments). You should refer to the Privacy Policies of the appropriate company regarding the personal data they hold about you.
Who is collecting the data?
Your data is being collected by Camden Tea Company Limited, Camden Market, Chalk Farm Road, London NW1. We are a Limited company registered in England & Wales number 09054695.
We operate a Shopify store which means that all the information you share with us when completing an order is also shared with Shopify in order to process your payment. You can view their Privacy Policy here.
Your data is also accessible by our small list of secure and verified data processors. For a full list, including what they do for us, please see our published list of partners by clicking here. It is not shared with any other organisations apart from when it is required to store your data within third party software.
Why is my data being collected?
We collect your details if you submit an order or enquiry so that we can fulfil that order and respond and contact you about your message. We collect your name, postal address and phone number so that we can deliver your order to you. We collect your email address so that (a) we can confirm your order with you in writing and correspond with you about it and (b) with your consent, contact you with information about future offers and new products.
How will my data be used?
If you contact us through our website we will use your email address or phone number in order to contact you about your message.
If you place an order through our website you may create an account within Shopify. This will allow you to monitor your orders, re-order/stock up on items, receive discounts and it will all you access to the personal data the we hold for you, which you will be able to edit. Your details and the details of your order will be held within our website so that we can fulfil your order.
If you give us permission to contact you by email, or if you sign-up to our mailing list, then we will also add your email address and name to MailChimp (created by The Rocket Science Group LLC) for email marketing purposes. Each email that you receive using MailChimp will come with a clear link to unsubscribe. Note that unsubscribing from our MailChimp list does not unsubscribe you from all communications, or remove you from our Website. To do this, see ‘How can I be forgotten’ below.
If you give us permission to contact you in exchange for receiving an offer from our website, we may email you directly to talk about the specific offer and other similar offers in future.
If you have an account with Facebook and/or Instagram or if you search for items using Google we may, from time to time, show you offers in the form of advertising. What you see in terms of advertising on Facebook, Instagram and Google is defined by your user agreement with those companies, you should refer to the Facebook, Instagram and Google Terms of Use and Privacy Policies. Who will my data be shared with?
We will not share or sell your data to any third parties for marketing use. Employees of our company and our data processors may see the details you give to us in their day-to-day work. We store the majority of our data ‘in the cloud’, in MailChimp (created by The Rocket Science Group LLC) and our Website (served by Shopify).
Does your website use cookies?

How do I unsubscribe, or request to be forgotten?
If you receive an email from us using the MailChimp email marketing software, you will be able to click the clearly identified unsubscribe link in the footer to remove yourself from future mailings.
If you wish us to also remove what data we hold on you as a company, we are happy to do this as long as it complies with the records we are required to hold within UK law. To request to be forgotten, please email your request to hello@camdentea.shop.
