Your Complete Guide to Making Iced Tea This Summer

Your Complete Guide to Making Iced Tea This Summer

Summer has arrived in the UK and with it some pretty impressive temperatures! If you’re anything like us, then one of life’s simplest joys is refreshing iced tea on a hot summer’s day to stay hydrated. But how do you make this summertime favourite?

Does Iced Tea Actually Use Tea?

Because iced tea is such a tasty and usually fruity drink, we frequently get asked if it is in fact tea! Now, while we can’t speak to some of the iced tea drinks you can buy at the supermarket, fresh iced tea definitely contains tea! The key to the perfect iced tea is choosing the perfect blend of tea to use as your base! We typically recommend fruit teas and black tea blends.

Finding the Perfect Blend

At Camden Tea Company, we’re passionate about helping others find their dream tea combinations which is why we developed the perfect blends to use for iced tea in the summertime. Our most popular of which include Juicy Lychee, Strawberry Mango Burst and Orange Daydream. Juicy Lychee is a wonderfully fruity black tea with a rich base and tantalising sweet lychee. Strawberry Mango Burst is a tender and juicy tea with strong berry flavours complimented by hibiscus and cornflowers. Orange Daydream is a cleansing and refreshing tea which combines orange and tangerine for a strong and tart infusion!

Want to Taste an Expertly Made Iced Tea?

Fortunately for you, we’re serving a range of delicious and refreshing iced teas at the Camden Tea Bar – a welcome retreat for Camden locals, tourists, remote workers and the perfect spot for a tea and a catch up with a friend! Find us in Camden Market and rest awhile indoors or out and choose from a range of iced teas – including tea bar exclusives, Mango and Passionfruit, Orange and Yuzu, Cucumber and Mint, Blueberry Medley and, the classic, Peach Iced Tea!

Want to Make the Perfect Iced Tea at Home?

You can shop some of our iced tea blends here on the website so you can always enjoy an iced tea – even if you can’t get to Camden Tea Bar! We recommend brewing the tea in hot water along with honey and sugar for about 10 minutes before straining and transferring to the fridge to chill. Serve the chilled tea with some fruit flourishes – and perhaps some lemon juice if you love that zing! And, of course, lots and lots of ice!

We wish you a delicious summer!
